Where were you born and raised?:
Never liked staying in one place. Grew up in Clitheroe, a little country town in northern England ! Spent 3 years in Helsinki, Finland and then a year in London before becoming a Pom.
How long have you been bartending?:
A year and a half.
Where was your first bar job?:
Helsinki. I was really a waiter but kept sneaking my way behind the bar.
What’s your favourite cocktail to drink or make?:
Would have to be a blue blazer, nothing gets people excited like a bit of fire.
You’ve just finished a super hectic shift and it’s finally time to sit down, what drink to you reach for?:
Glass of red if we’re winding things down, Captain Morgan’s if things are about to get exciting.
Which song played by our resident deejays is guaranteed to make you boogie behind the bar and forget you’re actually at work?:
Most triumphant moment behind the bar?:
$50 tip largely due to my outrageous Movember moustache.
Have you got a funny/irritating customer moment?:
First shift up in Sydney. A girl asks me for 5 wet pussies. After asking her to repeat the order several times I had to ask my manager how do I make a wet pussy ? All he told me was I had a lot to learn.
When you’re not behind the bar, where can we find you?:
On the other side of the bar. Eating. In the gym trying to compensate for all the drinking and eating.
Travelling. Food. Skiing. Development Economics. Meeting new people.
If you could have a drink with anyone in the world (dead or alive) who would it be?:
Martin Luther King Jr. I was always amazed by his speeches at school, if he could inspire hundreds of thousands through his words I’m sure he’d have a thing or two to say over a Mojito.
Beautiful orange/yellow of Alize Passion.
Where would you like to see yourself in 10 years time?:
Definitely no idea of ‘where’. The dream would be to own a bar with a few friends, without drinking away all of it’s stock. Call me a young idealistic bartender.
Tell us something random in 50 words or less:
Asked my 11 year old brother to help with this one. Two thirds of the world’s population has never seen snow. Red Bull is illegal in Norway, Denmark, Uruguay and Iceland. In 2012, Apple had more money in the bank than the US government. Japanese sheep go ‘meh’.
